What began as a behind-the-scenes administrative role has evolved into a deeply fulfilling clinical path. My journey within the practice has given me a unique perspective: I understand both the operational heartbeat of a thriving behavioral health organization and the deeply personal nature of healing work.

Rooted in empathy, compassion, and professionalism, my mission is to help create a therapeutic space where every client feels genuinely supported—whether it’s their first call to the office or a pivotal moment in session.

I’m currently pursuing my Master’s in Counseling, a step that has deepened my understanding of human behavior and enriched the ways I show up for clients and colleagues alike. As both a therapist and behavioral health consultant, I bring a systems-minded approach to care—honoring the connection between thoughtful organizational practices and meaningful therapeutic outcomes.

“My name is Alex (she/they) 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️and I’m a dedicated Licensed Social Worker (LSW) with seven years of experience in the mental health field and a Master’s degree from the Simmons School of Social Work. My approach to psychotherapy is rooted in building authentic relationships with my clients and honoring their unique strengths and needs. I aim to create a space that is holistic, inclusive and collaborative. I have trained in a range of clinical settings (outpatient, intensive outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient), working with diverse racial backgrounds, gender identities and sexual orientations utilizing a social-justice oriented lens.

Although I work across the board with many mental health needs, my specialties are working with addiction, neurodivergence (i.e. executive functioning coaching and decreasing shame) and assisting the LGBTQ+ community regarding identity exploration, expansive relationship styles (i.e. non-monogamy) and building self-acceptance. I pull from a variety of frameworks such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy and more.

Today is a chance to take the first step toward the life you dream about! I’m excited to meet you and partner with you in that process.”

Informed by systems theories and research on the neurobiology of trauma, addiction, and pain, I honor the unique experience of each person, bringing curiosity, warmth, acceptance, and humor to our relationship. I believe the power of healing in therapy lies within the safety of the therapeutic relationship, where together we create a place where you can put to words what may feel impossible to say out loud.

I will see you not as just a diagnosis or set of symptoms, but as a complex person with inherent strengths and a unique story to tell. I believe that you are the expert of your own life, and that your past experiences can help us understand what is troubling you in the present. We will decide together which approaches fit your needs. Some strategies I draw from include dialectical behavioral therapy, psychodynamic perspectives, polyvagal theory, harm reduction, psychoeducation, existential and humanistic theories, feminist theory, mindfulness-based techniques, and cognitive behavioral therapy.

I am honored to work with individuals from all walks of life.  I have a special interest in working with people living with chronic illnesses and pain, as well as with expectant and new parents of all genders. I have experience working directly with survivors of intimate partner and family violence, veterans, people experiencing homelessness, seniors, neurodivergent people, and LGBTQ people.

Life brings a wide range of experiences, challenges, and transitions that can sometimes feel overwhelming. As a therapist, my goal is to create a safe, supportive space where clients feel empowered to explore their emotional journeys and pursue their self-defined goals.

With over five years of experience serving diverse populations in the mental health field, I bring a compassionate, client-centered approach to my work. I spent two and a half years at an inpatient mental health facility, supporting individuals navigating substance use disorders, mental health crises, and homelessness. I’ve also worked extensively with youth with disabilities—teaching life skills, advocating for school accommodations, and supporting career exploration through specialized camps. Additionally, I managed a food pantry dedicated to individuals with physical, mental, and cognitive disabilities, deepening my commitment to holistic, community-based care.

After wearing many hats in service to my community, I’m overjoyed to be stepping into this new role. I find deep purpose in supporting individuals through all seasons of life and value the opportunity to build meaningful, healing connections.

I believe therapy is about creating a real, human connection where you feel safe to explore your story. My approach is compassionate and collaborative, and I bring curiosity and warmth into every session. I draw from both evidence-based methods and mind–body practices like mindfulness and breathwork to support each client in a way that feels personal and empowering.

I enjoy working with people who are navigating anxiety, stress, relationship challenges, or major life transitions. I am especially passionate about the connection between the brain and body, and I often weave this into my work by helping clients build resilience, practice self-regulation, and strengthen their overall well-being.
I see therapy as a journey we take together; one that helps you reconnect with your strengths, gain clarity, and move toward a life that feels more balanced and fulfilling.

Reaching out for support takes courage and it’s the first step toward real change. I work with teens, adults and LGBTQ+ individuals who are navigating life’s challenges, whether it’s anxiety, depression, identity exploration, relationship struggles, trauma, or major transitions.

My goal is to create a warm, non-judgmental space where you can feel safe to be yourself. I approach therapy as a collaborative process, grounded in trust and respect. You are the expert on your life and I’m here to walk alongside you, help you make sense of your experiences, and support you in building the tools and insights you need to move forward.
I tailor my approach to fit your unique needs, drawing from evidence-based practices while staying deeply attuned to who you are as a whole person. Together, we’ll explore what’s not working, identify your strengths, and move toward meaningful change at your pace. I aim to help you gain insight, develop practical tools, and reconnect with your sense of self and purpose.

You deserve support that affirms who you are and where you are right now. Let’s take that next step together. You don’t have to go through this alone. Therapy is not just about coping – it’s about growing. I’m here to walk with you.

Are you feeling weighed down by anxiety, depression, or the challenges of navigating life transitions? Do you find yourself wanting support to better understand your emotions, manage stress, or feel more in control of your day-to-day life? If so, I’d be honored to walk alongside you.

I specialize in working with adults and young adults who are coping with anxiety, depression, ADHD, and the uncertainties that often come with big changes in life. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and practical – drawing from evidence-based therapies like CBT, ACT, and DBT to help you build tools that foster growth, resilience, and lasting change.

Before moving into private practice, I gained valuable hands-on experience in residential and therapeutic settings, including Cunningham Children’s Home and Mercy Home for Boys and Girls. These experiences shaped my deep belief in the power of empathy, trust, and individualized care.

In our work together, you can expect a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where your story matters. My goal is not only to help you manage symptoms, but to empower you to feel more confident, connected, and in tune with the life you want to create.

I provide services in Chicago and the surrounding area, and I welcome the opportunity to support you through whatever challenges you’re facing.
